Step by step instructions for the main functions of MarginCalc

 

Overview

MarginCalc provides three pairs of margin keys on its keypad for calculating '% Margin', 'Sell Price' and 'Cost Price'. Each pair of keys allows you to enter the two values needed for the calculation.

To do a calculation simply enter the first value and tap the upper key of the appropriate pair, then enter the second value and tap the the lower key of the same pair.

Calculate a Margin

  1. Key in or calculate your cost price
  2. Tap the Cost button in the %Margin section of the keypad (top-left)
  3. Key in or calculate your sell price
  4. Tap the Sell button in the %Margin section of the keypad
  5. The percentage margin will be displayed

Calculate Sell Price

  1. Key in or calculate your cost price
  2. Tap the Cost button in the Sell section of the keypad (top-center)
  3. Key in or calculate your percentage margin
  4. Tap the %Margin button in the Sell section of the keypad
  5. The sell price will be displayed

Calculate Cost Price

  1. Key in or calculate your sell price
  2. Tap the Sell button in the Cost section of the keypad (top-right)
  3. Key in or calculate your percentage margin
  4. Tap the %Margin button in the Cost section of the keypad
  5. The cost price will be displayed

Simple Calculations

  1. Key in a number using the blue number keys
  2. Tap an operator key (+, -, x, ÷)
  3. Key in another number
  4. Tap the = key
  5. The result of the calculation will be displayed
  6. Keep tapping the = key if you need to repeat the last operation

Calculate a Percentage

  1. Key in a number using the blue number keys
  2. Tap the x key (multiply)
  3. Key in a percentage value using the blue number keys
  4. Tap the % key
  5. The calculated percentage will be displayed

Add a Percentage

  1. Key in a number using the blue number keys
  2. Tap the + key
  3. Key in a percentage value using the blue number keys
  4. Tap the % key
  5. The display will show your original number plus the percentage entered

Subtract a Percentage

  1. Key in a number using the blue number keys
  2. Tap the - key
  3. Key in a percentage value using the blue number keys
  4. Tap the % key
  5. The display will show your original number minus the percentage entered

Display Instructions

  1. Click on the small "i" symbol in the main display (or anywhere in the display)
  2. The screen will flip over to reveal the help screen
  3. Click on the Instructions button
  4. The iPhone web browser will open showing the instructions page. (Please note this is best shown in landscape mode by holding you iPhone on its side).

Send to Credit Card Terminal

  1. Click on the small "i" symbol in the main display (or anywhere in the display)
  2. The screen will flip over to reveal the help screen
  3. Click on the "Send to Credit Card Terminal" button
  4. If the Innerfence Credit Card Terminal is installed on your iPhone it will start and present MarginCalc's current value as the dollar amount to be charged.

Tell a Friend about MarginCalc

  1. Click on the small "i" symbol in the main display (or anywhere in the display)
  2. The screen will flip over to reveal the help screen
  3. Click on the "Tell a Friend..." button
  4. The iPhone mail application will open showing a polite email in English containing a brief desription of MarginCalc and a link to the MarginCalc website. The message can be freely edited. The destination address will be blank.
  5. Just enter the destination email address and click send.
